HALONG BAY
After breakfast at the hotel, check out. In the morning, head east for approximately 3 hours, driving to Halong Bay, the pride of the Gulf of Tonkin, a Natural World Heritage site designated by UNESCO in 1994 and 2006. The road will pass by the Red River delta with green paddy fields and rural villages, where hardworking farmers are busy with their farming jobs, ploughing buffaloes, or planting seedlings.
Upon arrival in Halong, check in to the overnight cruise to discover the magnificent beauty of this “Descending-dragon” bay, created by thousands of odd-shaped limestone rocks and karst grottoes. After lunch on board, we can visit the grottos, stop for swimming, or go kayaking, passing floating houses and approaching islets to enjoy their beauty up close.
In the evening, attend activities on the boat or relax at your leisure. Overnight on the cruise.
Please note that the program may vary slightly depending on the cruise you choose.
HALONG BAY – HANOI (B/BR/D)
After a peaceful night on the cruise, you should wake up early to witness the enchanting sunrise over the sea. The Vietnamese refer to the “East Sea” as the “Eastern Sea,” so you can imagine the magic of seeing the sunrise over the islets of the Bay. Following breakfast, our boat will continue to cruise through these marvelous areas, where almost every islet has its own name, inspired by its shape or resembling objects, such as Sail Island, Fisherman’s Head Rock, Butterfly Rock, or Turtle Islet, to name a few. After enjoying these breathtaking sights, check out of your room and savor brunch on board as the cruise returns to the pier. Upon disembarking from the cruise, you’ll be transferred back to Hanoi. Check-in at the hotel and take some time to relax. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.
HANOI – FLY TO HO CHI MINH CITY (SAIGON)– CITY TOUR (B/D)
After breakfast at your hotel and completing the check-out process, we will proceed to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, the most dynamic city in Vietnam. Upon your arrival, our local tour guide will warmly welcome you and assist with the transfer to downtown. Check-in at your hotel and take some time to relax.
Our city tour begins with a visit to the War Remnants Museum, one of Saigon’s most renowned historical attractions. The War Remnants Museum provides insight into the Vietnamese struggle for independence, freedom, and peace, as well as the local perspective on the Vietnam War. The museum’s exhibits, featuring weapons, documents, and photographs, serve as compelling evidence of war crimes committed in Vietnam and pay tribute to the heroic actions of past Vietnamese generations.
Next, we’ll explore the Reunification Palace, which bore witness to the culmination of the Vietnam War in 1975. This grand building now serves as a museum and an official reception hall. Nearby, you’ll have the opportunity to view the Notre Dame Cathedral (exterior only), constructed between 1877 and 1883, and the colonial-style Central Post Office, both iconic landmarks in the city.
In the late afternoon, we’ll visit Ben Thanh Market, a symbol of Saigon, where you’ll have some free time for shopping. Later, we’ll enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. You’ll spend the night in Saigon, immersing yourself in the city’s vibrant atmosphere.
SAIGON – MEKONG DELTA (MY THO) – SAIGON (B/D)
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, we will head to My Tho, known as the homeland of coconuts and family-owned factories that produce local products like coconut candy and rice paper. Upon arrival, we will embark on a boat for a cruise along the mighty Mekong River, offering you a glimpse into the daily lives of the local people who reside along the riverbanks.
During the cruise, we will make a stop at an island in the area, where you can indulge in fresh tropical fruits served in the heart of a lush garden while traditional southern Vietnamese folk music plays in the background. Following this delightful break, we will board other small boats rowed by local residents, allowing us to navigate through narrow canals shaded by water coconut trees. This serene journey will take us to visit local factories where you can sample honey tea and witness the production of coconut candy milk. Of course, you’ll have the opportunity to try these sweet treats as well. Additionally, you can take a leisurely stroll in the garden where local beekeepers tend to their honeybees.
In the afternoon, our adventure continues with a visit to Vinh Trang Pagoda, a famous religious site in the region known for its unique architectural blend of Chinese, Cambodian, and French influences. After a day filled with exploration and cultural experiences, we will return to Saigon in the late afternoon. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant, and you will spend the night in Saigon.
SAIGON – CU CHI TUNNEL – SAIGON (B/D)
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we will embark on a journey to Cu Chi Tunnels, an extraordinary network of tunnels that played a crucial role during the war, stretching over 200 kilometers. These tunnels became legendary for their significance in the conflict.
Once a complex underground city, the tunnels featured numerous trap doors, specially designed living quarters, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens. To gain insight into their construction and usage, we will start with a brief introduction video that illustrates the intricate tunnel system.
For those seeking a more immersive experience, there will be an opportunity to crawl into a short section of the tunnels, providing a firsthand encounter with the tight confines and heat that characterized life underground during wartime.
The remainder of the day will be yours to enjoy at your leisure, whether you choose to relax or indulge in some shopping. In the evening, we will gather for dinner at a local restaurant. You will spend the night in Saigon.
SAIGON – DEPARTURE (B)
Savor your final breakfast at the hotel as your memorable journey comes to a close. You will have some free time to leisurely enjoy your surroundings until it’s time for check-out. Later, we will provide a transfer to the airport, where you will catch your flight back home.
